The way there's so much BL subtext with the senior but in actual fact she's a girl so its just funny. (For a dude who hates men, why are you blushing MC!!)The art is so good but the MC's so horny and the translations are a lil wonky I can't take it seriously.
For a series supposedly about MC's journey to collecting a harem of beauties, there sure aint any harems happening other than in his dreams and delusions lmao. He's actually a decent guy despite his rotten dreams seeing how he would never touch the empress who he nurtured and is polite to the sect people even if he hates men. Looking forward to how it'll develop.
I'll bfr the Emperor was the most interesting character in this entire webtoon. It's so refreshing to see a potential ML who doesn't fall in love with the reincarnated MC. Heck, it was clear that he's was never a ML potential with how unromantic all their encounters were.
Tbh this Emperor deserved more screentime in the ending as one of the biggest "antagonists" of the whole series and I am feeling bitter over the conclusion.
Putting aside how rushed the last 20 chapters were, the scene where he forcefully kissed MC and wanted to take her to bed was so out of character for him because it's hard to imagine him taking an action that doesn't benefit him. It was even more awkward when he immediately lost interest in her to resolve a political struggle. He saw everyone around him as chess pieces and was optimizing their actions to fit his chessboard. Others saw MC's capabilities and fell in love, but he saw her and immediately thought of ways to utilise her powers for himself. That's why he's a powerful character that had his potential wasted when he was defeated so easily.
I expected him to struggle, but maybe the author wanted to imply that he felt caged in the palace and wanted to leave(many metaphors). It would make sense since MC's last words were for him to lay on the bed if he wanted to die a dignified death. I always thought it's weird how easily he was killed by his wife in their past life, and stabbed by his sister in the current. I assume he has his guards down around family members and was seeking death.
He's a morally gray person and no one can deny that he was a capable king- he doesn't have MC's buffs nor reincarnation like the MC but still ruled over the lands. He's a bad father, but can we agree that MC was also a horrible mother? They are both people of extreme power driven by circumstances, but he never directly killed any of his children nor wives even whilst knowing they want to dethrone and kill him. It was never expanded what made the ex-Empress run from the palace, but in the end he tore the rebellion letter so there wasn't any evidences left.
His sister hinted that he was an unloved prince who received twisted love so he don't understand how to show love properly. It's obvious he had a rough childhood and I'm really curious what made him so apathetic but rational enough he didn't become a tryant. Really hope there will be extras of him. It's ironic that the 3rd prince hated his mother, the crown prince hated his father, but the villain mother has a 2nd prince and best friend who loves her in both lives. At the end of the day, only the Emperor is dying loveless.
P.s Although I'd have loved Rohan as the ML, the crown prince dislike him and he is extremely loyalty to the Emperor. That scene where Rohan raised his sword at her for the Emperor while Vlemir protected her was a huge foreshadowing. Their rs chart is pretty straightforward.
Anyone else urked by the pov change every 2 chapters? It's not even past 25 chapters yet we've had a pov from all the female main characters and mc. Normally I wouldn't have minded but everytime they switch they are just repeating the same things.
Please 1 pov is enough, I just want to read from his POV!
That aside everyone is so fine...I miss his black hair.
Lowkey thought the Duchess was messing with Lily the whole time. She treats her like a pet and Lily loves it so ig they suit each other. (Where did her other sleeping buddies go? Are they ever gonna expand on that)
Personally I'd have found it more interesting if the Duchess's target was Anna instead since she isn't someone who yields easily(and the duchess seems so bored the entire time).
Duchess acts like she's playing Lily. Lily is indecisive and Anna is leaving.
What a mess.
If Rose really loves Lily, it's just another example of bad writing. She looked bored the entire time they had sex, and the author never showed us a single scene of them actually being a couple. Which makes sense if Lily is going to have a rude awakening next chapter, if not, it just proves the author doesn't know how to write a story.
I read (and dropped after 20 ch) author's other work. While I think that that manhwa was bad, the author still managed to somewhat capture love between the two characters. Which leads me to believe that the way Rose's character is portrayed is planned/intentional. Therefore, Rose really doesn't love Lily. We don't know much about her, so I can't tell what exactly are her feelings toward Lily, but it surely can't be love. At best, it's obsession. At worst, it's manipulation.
Glad there are others who noticed how bored she looked around Lily. The whole duchess backstory feels like a convenient plot to get Lily's guard down.
I'm hoping the author will do a twist and don't go down the rabbit hole of pwp ntr because these small details making up their personalities could be used for a bigger and more interesting plot device.
Nah, I actually think that if that were to happen, Lily would have more than enough reasons to join in the orgy. If Rose tells her that joining the orgy is another 'form of love' or whatever the fck, then I bet Lily would actually happily join her. And even if she felt sth was off, she would probably finally realize that she abandoned and lost everything; except for Rose. Her abandonment and love issues would surely kick in (just like they did when she thought Anna left her) and she would join the orgy. Bet that's how the Rose's other fck buddies joined her little harem lmao
Replying to your prev comment : Tbh I jumped to the side story of her other work because reviewers said the main story was increasingly frustrating(the side couple was cute).
Rose does seem like she's manipulating Lily, and Lily's a blind participant. If Rose's attitude change after Anna's departure and Lily still follows her like a blind chick, she's a lost case. If this is a long series, I'd like to see Lily stand her grounds and not just become over reliant on Rose's "love". It'd be disappointing if Rose's the one pulling all the strings since the story's supposed to be about Lily. It's Lily of the Valley not Rose of the Valley lmao.

Ed is for the girlies. I get the FLs, I really do.
