The story is overrated if you take everything at surface-level and good if you look further to understand the characters and their motivations. It really depends on what type of reader you are

Considering Renjaku-san’s personality throughout the story, I don’t think he sincerely meant that they’d find time in the schedule. I believe he actually has zero intention to ever go meet them unless Hana asked him explicitly.
I’m sorry, all I could think about was how the dads made a decent love story, but sucky fathers, while the ML had some weird tension for MC’s dad and might’ve partly fell for MC because he looks like his dad, but got mad at MC when he thought MC liked his dad
I haven’t read this in a while, but last I did, the ML was slowly trying to redeem himself. So I was confused at first when everyone said he was horrible with no development. And then I realize everyone is talking about the main and og couple’s kid, because apparently they have one and he turns out worse than his father somehow???
And now my motivation to reread is gone because why not make it a separate story at least why shove the son into my face, MC would’ve never raised a kid to be like scum ML like I feel like that defeats the purpose of their story because MC would never want someone else to go through what he did with ML and ML is supposed to be a changed person to atone for his actions against MC, so he wouldn’t want the son to turn out this way either?
See, that's what everyone would think. We all know the MC from season 1 would not let his son turn out so shitty after everything he went through with the ML.
But for some reason he is not even in season 2. He has not been seen once, or even really talked about?? Like I don't even know if he's alive, I'm assuming he's not since we haven't seen him at all but we've seen the ML from season 1 throughout season 2. The author just straight up removed him from the story with no explanation lol
