I sort of really pity the mc's ex because both the mc and his new guy are one-sidedly putting pressure on him without letting him make his own choices. He's like a "giver" type of person stuck between two "takers".
but really thoo, i dont see what the mc did wrong in this situation... its not like he planned to get into a coma... and if we're gonna blame him for choosing to work far away and leaving the ex, then that just doesn't sound right... he did what he could for his career, i see nothing wrong with that... i wholeheartedly think the ex is the one playing victim, when the truth of the matter is that the Mc is the victim... he was robbed 5 years of his life and now all these changes were thrown at him... and not once did we see ANYONE sympathize with him because he got into a coma... everyone around him kept telling him it was somehow his fault that his ex was with someone else now... all because he wasn't there the past 5 years.. like bro what??? coma, hello???????? and the ex is being a bitch about the situation... like sure, you've moved on but why treat the mc like he's a plague, why can't you understand he didn't mean to be gone for 5 years? sure you don't want to get back together, but acting like you're disgusted when the mc is around is uncalled for... end it cleanly, don't put the mc into anymore hardships...
It's none of their fault but it's clear the mc is the one unable to leave the ex alone even though he knew the ex was never happy with the mc's choice of work, and it's clear he knew his ex would never be able to accept the risks that his job entailed, hating that he always had to worry if his lover would be alright, which means they just were never compatible as a couple, to begin with, and the mc knowing that should let the guy go and find himself someone in the same line of work, which is what will ultimately happen as it's obvious the mc will end uo with his new boss.
