I don't understand why you guys aren't "getting it." She sacrificed her chance at freedom to save Jiang fromthe Emperor hunt and death promise. She realized they could not escape, so that was how she "saved" him. As a martial artist, she knows where to stab to not kill, but make it LOOK bad, and she knew he had a way out down teh cliff (for them) so he'd be safe.

Yes, and she very much wanted to escape, but when she realized that Jiang would end up dying if they kept going, because the Emperor vowed to make him suffer, she had enough decency not to risk HIS life for HERS. That makes her a better person, imo.
