This was sooooo good! So sweet and so smutty!! + gorgeous art style! I was surprised when I finished it and it said it was completed, I thought we were going to see some cliche drama like Mitsuru getting kidnapped by some other bocchan biter who wanted to kill him or old donors who fell in love with Yuusei coming back to be a pain in the ass... Although I'm sad it was so short I'm kinda glad the story wasn't dragged out with unnecessary drama haha
Yeah what the noona is saying is not completely wrong but I hate that she put in-hun in a good light when everyone and their dogs know he's a piece of shit lmao but yeah is what nakyum feels even love at this point? I really doubt so... Also everyone clap it up for the servant who gave an earful to Seungho!!! Hopefully he doesn't get his head chopped off for speaking like that to him...
It's definitely Stockholm syndrome, and I'm all here for it! I live how realistically this book takes things, I hate when ukes gain Stockholm and it ends happy ever after. Rape, than 3 pages of hate for ML, then sudden, and unexplainable realization that there were always some hidden feelings, and then they get together. I hate that. If an author is going to use r*pe, they might as well go the full 9 miles.
yesss I agree completely! Hopefully the author will give Nakyum a chance to sort out his broken mind and feelings... and if we do a get a happy ending I hope it's because Seungho decides to change and treat him right for real and actually try to make Nakyun fall in love with him and make up for everything he has done to him.
I don't mind if they end up together, and I heavily agree with @Frankness' post above you on this matter. Seungho has to make some serious changes to himself and how he treats Nakyum first, he should gain back his love the proper way, not through abuse. Based on the author and how she hasn't failed us so far, I can see ~4 endings for this series.
Ending 1 (HE): Seungho changes, and treats Nakyum right.
Ending 2 (BE): Seungho doesn't change, and instead continue to keeps Nakyum prisoner against his own will, probably even more captive than he already is right now, and Nakyum lost his feelings for Seungho, so less dubcon, and more just full-on r*pe.
Ending 3 (2 part 2) (controversial): same as above, but Nakyum falls for the Stockholm, so not much different to how it is right now (this is the least likely ending because their situation doesn't change at all, no progress is made, good or bad, which defeats the whole purpose or a story)
Ending 4 (controversial): They separate. This can happen for different reasons, Nakyum could run away, Seungho can lose feelings for Nakyum and kick him to the curb, or it's a mutual loss of feelings. It might even end with one or both of them getting together with completely different people, or just forever staying single. With how the authors has played us so far, I wouldn't be surprised if she picked a controversial ending, and this type of ending for "romance" books is practically unheard of, but I think with the current fanbase and size of this novel, she could pull it off and it will only hype up the book even more, but like I said, it'd be controversial.
Overall though, I'm fine with either ending, I came for the story, not the ending. And so far, the story hasn't disappointed. It's treated the phycologicalness of r*pe and Stockholm very seriously and realistically. Right when Nakyum was "falling in love" with Seungho, the kidnapping happened and pushed their relationship back on Seungho's side. Now one of Nakyum's Noona showed him the truth about why he thinks he has feelings. It doesn't look like the author will let the Stockholm be the reason for them to get together, or use it as a simple excuse to expedite their relationship, if anything, it's slowed it down, which I like. I doubt she will disappoint us, but if she does it will either be because she stopped writing the book in the middle for whatever reason, or it will cause the amazingness of this book to drop significantly with a typical HE where Stockholm is the base of their love (the only ending I would hate), which as you noticed, was not an ending I put up in possible endings, the one where Stockholm did exsist was a bad ending, or controversial at best.
Overall, I don't mind if they get together, I'd just hate if the uke only hated him for 3 pages - one chapter before obviously developing feelings and then they get together and happy ever after. That already has not happened, so I just can't wait to see how this story continues in the future!
Obligatory apologies for really long post ( ̄∇ ̄")
Sorry but I really disagree with your opinion about so many points I don't know where to start.
I don't think this will have a controversial ending, I don't know if you noticed, but the author is actually re-arranging the story because she received a lot of criticism! In an interview she even said she changed the story for fanservice! If it was for her, she would have made it more violent, but the fans like romantic love stories and she had to tone-down the violence.
You said that:
It doesn't look like the author will let the Stockholm be the reason for them to get together, or use it as a simple excuse to expedite their relationship, if anything, it's slowed it down <- she is actually using this. Nakyum went from loving the scholar, being disappointed and falling for Seungho in a couple of chapters. The only thing that slowed their relationship was the kidnapping, and only because it took three chapters of Jihwa crying and three chapters of Seungho raping Nakyum in all the positions. Seungho confessed in chapter 58, they didn't had a significative conversation since then, actually, they never had a significative conversation. Tbh I can't see how you can find this story realistic or well-written, I think it's a stale pile of clichés, with the noble falling for the commoner and so on. We all knew since Seungho said "I would never embrace a lowborn" they would have ended up together. If you want a well-written story with realistic psychology of the characters, you should read Killing Stalking. I still think Byeonduck tried to imitate it since there are many similarities, but Byeonduck is not as talented as Koogi (KS's author) and it shows
I wish it had an ending where they have separate paths, and I am sure a redemption for Seungho would be bad. I also think if they end up together, Byeonduck will never pull a Harada ending so I'm ready for the disappointment ( I will never be actually disappointed because for being disappointed you should have expectations)
Huh, that's intresting. I haven't been following what the author said, though I do wish I could have seen the original story. It is true that what's happening right now is definitely Stockholm, I was talking about them having a complete falling out in the future and reconciling in a proper way, which is my hope for a potential happy ending. Unfortunately, based on what you said, it sounds like the author is bending to the will of the audience, so a bittersweet, or controversial ending is probably now out of the equation, but I still hope that they fix their relationship like how I said above, because continuing down this route is going to cause their relationship to be founded on Stockholm, although in a sense it kinda already was no matter how it is taken from here on out.
I do think it is more realistic than the other stories out in BL, by quite a long shot, but it is definitely not nearly as realistic and horrifying as Killing Stalking, that was gave me chills the whole time I read it. This one by far is a lot more of an enjoyable read without nearly the same level of stomach churns. I would also like the separation ending because it is the only correct ending for relationships like these, but unfortunately it is against what the majority / loudest readers want, so the only way it can be pulled off is if the author is strong against what the readers want, which I thought she was more than I realize she its.
At the end of the day though, I've enjoyed and been engrossed into the story, I've wasted time that I didn't want to spend in reality, so I'm in a win-win. And now I'm even more curious about how this series ends (if it ever does end, money grabbers like this story tend to want to go on as long as people are paying). In the meantime, my expectations for all series is always low (if I ever get to the ending, 90% of the books I read, I never get to the ending because they get so bad trying to forcefully prolong the story). So, going by psychology, I keep my expectations at the bottom so that I won't be disappointed, and can easily be pleasantly surprised.
Thanks for your reply! I understand your points now :D keeping low your expectations helps to enjoy stories like PotN!
I still think a "happy" ending with them together could work decently only in a bittersweet sense like "they are not really happy", Harada-style, but as I said, Byeonduck is not Harada or Koogi, so I haven't so much hope.
And thank you for your response too! I learned quite a lot as well! You are quite well versed in authors names XD I had to search most up. I really suck with keeping track of authors unless I see many similarities and art styles between two really good books (like Brothers Without a Tomorrow). Glad we had this conversation!
It was very cute and I kinda cried a little hahah I found it so weird that Yuna and Rio got together like 20 chapters before Akari and Kazu when they both liked each other already from loooong ago!!! But hey at least we got many panel of the cute dates from Rio and Yuna!
Also I've realised that I'm maybe way too old for these manga lmao the whole time I kept thinking "just do whatever is best for you, high school couples dont even last that long and long distance relationships even less" or "that lady is gonna catch these hands, I can hug or feed mouth-to-mouth whoever I want" hahaha
I really liked that they touched important topics for teenagers though, like Kazu confronting his parents about his dreams and the pressure he had after his brother (that's where I cried because when I was a teenager I didn't have the courage to do that and I regret every single day), dealing with divorces/parents fighting all day and Yuna's journey from not being able to look up when talking to people to smiling widely to strangers and easily going to karaoke with her new class.
I feel like that maybe if I were younger or still in high school, I would have enjoyed the manga more since I'm not the main target of the genre hahaha I would recommend it to teenagers but if you're older just keep in mind that it's a shojo with high school kids with their first experiences, dont be so harsh on them and their questionable feelings and decisions ^^
Why are guys all talking about the ending? Have the other chapters come out as raws or have you read spoilers somewhere, please share them if you had
Also from what I got, I had to reread the entire thing, seems like Tsukuyomi is a rare species since he grows so fast so as the teacher was explaining "rate of growth is faster (short lived)" BOY IF THEY MAKE TSUKOYOMI DIE ISTG!!!... Then they talk about fate all the time but in the latest chapter we see that in this universe fate is not reciprocal (??) so "another person's fate isn't limited to your own" so you might be fated to someone who has their fate linked to another... Maybe it's like for our three main characters... Tbh it's very interesting even though it's a little confusing

I LOVED THIS SO MUCH I LOVE BOTH OF THEM SO MUCH AAAAAA sweet, sexy, cute, pretty art, it has everything!!
