There's a long flashback. It starts with Ivan rescuing Hen from the ballpit. That's their first meeting. Then the chapters follow what happened during that time and how we ended up where the story began before Hen was marked: Hen disliking Ivan and Ivan having a secret crush on Hen. Then we return to this day, where Hen in the yellow blanket is having that flashback. He now gets that Ivan had opened up to him I the past (claiming to talk about a friend), and that while Hen had comforted him, Ivan got embarrassed and insulted Hen ("you're a goody two-shoes") which Hen took badly. Then he even remembers that the next time they met someone was telling Hen rumours about Ivan, so Hen must have seemed two-faced, which is why Ivan might not trust him and open up to him. Hen decides to rush to Ivan. Meanwhile Alek, who still has some sort of bond with Hen due to the mark, feels sad because Hen is sad. He goes to confront Ivan about making Hen sad, but he also offers to take Ivan to meet Hen and talk it out. When Hen sees Alek's car he thinks Ivan didn't have the courage to come and see him. But Ivan steps out of the car. Hen, who is still frustrated about Ivan keeping secrets, yells nonsense at him and starts wading through the ballpit to him, and Ivan goes to pick him up. Hen slaps Ivan to put an end to the fight, and then kisses him since he loves Ivan and had already figured out that Ivan is a scaredy-cat who pretends to be fine, rather than be emotionally honest.
