as a transmasc myself—damn those scenes that depicted gender dysphoria hit so close to home. I'm in a similar situation as our mc in a way that I can't medically transition and the visceral hatred one can have towards their body, it's so real and so raw.

This was such a breath of fresh air honestly. It has a realistic take on life, the drama wasn't overly milked just for the sake of having drama. The dynamic between the main couple—and its development—felt natural and the switching during sex wasn't forced either ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
Maybe I'm just a vers/switch that craves representation and stories about people like myself, but I loved that they were just two dudes navigating their feelings, and past and current relationships without the predetermined relationship roles based on their appearances like we see in most bl. These characters were actually their own personalities outside the stereotypes. I absolutely loved the way they were written.

awh damn such a shame they didn't switch.. vers couples are sadly so rare (too rare) in bl </3

Ikr? And it's odd because in real life, verses are very common.

yeah, this. idk if it's a cultural thing or heteronormativity or a mix of both. (Take this with a huge bucket of salt) but I've heard that in china people tend to take the top/bottom thing very seriously, so I wonder if korea is the same. Also most bl authors are not gay men and since the trope is almost always that the bottom is smaller and more feminine than the top (in this particular manhwa mainly just the former applies), and their roles are very rigid, I can't help but wonder if it just simply boils down to heteronormativity. You know if we think your average straight relationship, the woman trends to be smaller than the men and there's only so much straight men that are willing to get pegged by a woman. Not sure if people are ready for that conversation though, so I hope I don't get jumped for this lmao.

sorry this was a long one, but it's just a personal pet peeve of mine (that doesn't bother me enough to stop reading, I'll just complain about it lol)

It absolutely boils down to heteronormativity. People find gay relationships easier to understand when there is a role of the "woman" (taker) and a "man" (giver). Its really easy to notice when the writer-mangaka is a gay man themselves.

Vers couples in bl are such hidden gems. I can't believe the universe finally blessed my eyes with this ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
