i think he was just mad confused at mc. and frustrated cuz he kept trying to get closer to him and then they would and then mc would forget about it/delude himself over it and put distance between them the next time they met so I'm p sure his expressions were just him being actually upset upon seeing him. they both seem to be ok w how they cleared up the misunderstanding for now but i feel like theres was intentionally a few things left uncovered, maybe for them to have to unpack later in their relationship
also, i feel like the ml is getting p sus at this point so i suspect itll be a very dramatic reveal
