Im really confuse is the author japanese and made it "korean style (manhwa)" or is the author korean? I mean the story looks like japanese since the author is killing his characters also backstory in the middle of the fight. I thought this would be a boring repetitive manhwa(?) that i would later drop, but I am actually so invested in this and I was not expecting to cry.
actually, there has been quite a few jp authors adapting 'manhwa'-formatted works but personally, story-wise, they still retain the manga vibes. just me tho

You are soooo missing out! Sure the first volume is tedious because of all the exposition but I assure you, get past the first volume and then everything will make so much more sense and interesting. In fact, I even dropped the novel when I first read it, because of the exact same reason as you! But, now it’s an all time favorite novel of mine and I’ve reread it like 5 times now, and have come to even appreciate the tediousness of the first volume, since that’s where everything started and put things into new perspective. I will never regret reading it, if anything I’m so glad it was completed when I read it.
(Sorry i was gushing, but you can tell how much I love it! You have no idea how excited I am about the second season and the anime adaptation)

Authors don't use the real word out of fear for copyright, im pretty sure. Most the time the Author will chose their own word like blexgram or something as basic as thegram, and translators will change it.
If I'm wrong about the copy right thing, my bad, all I know is they don't use the real word to social medias, I've even seen it with YouTube, they use wetube of thetube.
You are indeed right, it's for copyright reasons. That's why in anime it's always Wacdonalds in stead of McDonald's
