Read to chapter 24 and Ill drop this now.
Honestly the premise could be good and I like the art but it feels so rushed.
I came after the first episode of the Anime but couldn't stand the art style and it was kinda trashy (in a bad way).
This story could be so much getter if they developed the characters better, this feels like they took only the highlights of the story + some in betweens and went with it.
For example, that professor could've had more scenes, more scheming but instead revealed herself after a lame attempt right after that moon drinking promise, it felt so pointless. Should've kept her and not made her the obvious spy.
Ray is a war orphan and was rescued by his master, would've been better to see him down and depressed at the start of school after all those battlefield horrors he saw and then his friends made an effort to get to know him and cheer him up, then it would make sense for his mentor to be like "you changed in just 3 months"....we literally never saw the change tho! He was always cheerful and we barely saw one fight with them and that was 3 months of friendship growth?
I mean you can make the pacing faster in the later half but at the start, you want to flesh out your characters better and set a foundation so people can understand their motives through previous established traits.
It's such a disappointment.
I've stumbled across many manga because of Anime that looked trashy at first, for example:
My instant death ability is so overpowered
That one has such a simple premise but is a joy to read and takes their time with the characters journey + some background chapters
The reincarnation of the strongest exorcist in another world
Yet again, interesting story and good execution, it focuses on a few main characters and does something with them, can feel a bit rushed at times but I still love it
Both Anime of these manga are pretty decent too, the Anime for this one feels horrendous tho, it's a shame. There's probably a light novel for this and that may be the only good one to enjoy this story.
I had a thought, maybe Mingwa has mistaken smut with actual character development or romantic growth....if this is supposed to be a "classic romance story", how many chapters will this be? There's already 46 with absolutely no romantic development, just violence.
I've seen soft BL's with no sex scenes whatsoever that have better character chemistry.
Hell I've seen better written toxic tops!
For how many chapters are just pure sex, there's absolutely 0 chapters of actual love (excluding Dan but even that was literally thrown in the trash, no pun intended).
It's likely that the captain was in love with his friend but never got to tell him how he feels so now he has the doll and all his shared memories to hold dear, that's incredibly sad.
Also will they be explored more in volume 2? No spoilers, I just wanna know if we'll see more of them!
This volume has been much shorter than expected, isn't the second the last one already?
Ngl I feel like this story is getting better with each chapter. Their sexual chemistry also works better now that we've seen some background on them. I really like the MC and it helps if the ML isn't just psychotic for the sake of it (*cough* story writing of Jinx).
Hoping for more character dynamics being explored and a good story to unfold.
Found the raws, this has 2 volumes with 12 chapters and it's complete.
I can provide sites for Korean/Chinese raws and know where to buy the Japanese version as PDF, DM me if you speak any of these 3 languages and would be willing to pick this up!
I can try to clean and typewriter the panels as long as someone provides me with a good translation (not mtl).
Wtf am I even reading? Where is the author going with this? How can you make your own ML alias the end goal, the second partner of this entire relationship this BL portrays so unlikeable and act like a fucking cunt all the time? If this was a torture BL, great writing but there's not the least bit romance in there...WE ARE ON CHAPTER 45 FOR CHRIST SAKE.
I don't need a masterpiece but what tf is this? There is just no character development at all, this feels like agony to sit through and yet I read it...I'm going insane.
Dan is delusional and needs fucking therapy, I hope they DON'T end up together, I'm praying, I'm begging (sadly they will, I know), this is abuse in the making.
Rarely have I read such bad writing with such pretty art...I'm not expecting much and I keep getting disappointed in spite of this.
Sorry but I just felt so angry.
That's probably the first time I've seen so many gratulatory artworks by different creators in the Creator's note before! Goes to show how popular the series was and also how well liked Eeej is :)
I love all the messages and that most are desperate for side stories & it's nice to see the lack of smut in season 3 being recognized by the creator so we're in for a lot of hot stuff in the side stories! <3
Can't wait!

My god the amount of heartache I felt while reading this, seeing Sangwoo's thoughts and their relationship develop, you'd think I have a "masochistic streak" myself haha
My only critique is that the ending was too short, I would've loved to see more now that they sorted it out and I felt like Sangwoo should've been more honest and actually voice his thoughts for once, it makes it seem like he isn't as willing to give his everything to their relationship although he's been a mess over the situation just as much as Jaeyoung. He should've told him that he thought about moving with him, how he was struggling, sad that he missed the drama opening and so on. I guess that all comes later so I'd love some side stories with Sangwoo being more open.
This Manhwa does something truly unique and beautiful, it's realistic and doesn't pull its punches when showing the struggles someone in a same sex relationship or just being in love for the first time, can face.
It's been years now and it was a memorable journey, it felt like a rollercoaster reading this from the unpleasant first meeting to their attraction to each other forming, Sangwoo's inner struggle, their intimacy and Jaeyoung's wild & unpredictable personality.
That's what I love about slow paced romance stories, you'll truly experience their relationship and form a connection to the characters. At least it's much easier for me in comparison to something fast paced or stories going straight to smut. (nothing wrong with that tho).
Anyways this makes me so sentimental and I will forever love this Manhwa!
I'm so sorry I wanted to like your comment
Haha it's okay! Happens to everyone here :)
