Being full honest here, mc in the novel was really... how do I say it... sortof unlikable, idk. I felt really bad for ml when reading it. But in the adaptation he's so much better...
Idk but I like the adaptation much better than the novel tbh, also I dropped the novel before finishing it, the mc was written to be so adamant that it made kindof unlikable.... he kept pushing ml away

Not sure if the original writing might just not be expressive enough, but for tsunderes it's always important to give them cutesy, blushy moments. Those work far better in artwork than writing. So maybe that was the issue.
i think I kind of get you and your opinion on the mc is valid. For me, I think he’s okay and hes a cutie pie, I actually empathise with him esp with his trust issue, man was abandoned by his own family and was betrayed twice. But what’s important for me is their relationship dynamic. Hes not the sweet kind of lover that job goes to the ml since hes so smitten and head over heels in love.
Also it could also be bc of the translation thing? I didn’t read the novel in novelupdates
No I really like the tsundere types, but the way it was written (or maybe translated) made the mc push the ml a lot even after the ml does so much for him, the adaptation is so much better, gives the love the ml deserves (atlest it seems like it's going that way)
The more I think about it now, I feel it might just be the writing style or the translation, but my baby the ml did not get the love he deserved from the novel to my memory.
I totally get you in this part. It seems you really adore ycy a lot and hes got a really big heart and so much love to give, heesung on the other hand is not the expressive type so i understand your point. I knew many lovers irl who are like these haha. Maybe the writer wants this kind of dynamic :D though for me heesung loveees ycy in his own way, he loves him and cares for him deeply though yeah hes not really a sweet one and he easily gets upset.
