There's a difference as throughout it all he is the 1 who decided ask cirrus out yet (as someone said this already somewhere below) he choose to be with him to later ignore, deny his feelings and hurt him using Cirrus's trauma and insecurities.
Plus I feel like through all of this: Skylar will leave out this relationship with a supportive/concern mom(I don’t remember the mom being a bitch or mean. Just concern about her son’s wellbeing), his sister, and a healthy relationship with his friend group. Cirrus has nothing to fall back on. ??? just because you get into a relationship with someone you are suppose to deal with this shit? skylar is harsh and mean to cirrus but think about WHY he is. his former bsf manipulated him, and when he opens up to someone new he's manipulated AGAIN!! if you were in his shoes and you found out all these feelings you felt for someone had been steered towards that direction through getting rid of your friends, crush, barriers, etc. wouldn't you also think of the most hurtful thing to say?
honestly i understand this, cirrus is a really sad character and the lack of support is why he's like this. yet when you deal with something like this, it effects you for a LONG time. i have supportive people around me but i still deal heavily in opening up to people due to tramua despite it happening years ago... its not something simple as that. i just find it upsetting many people think that skylar wont also be as fucked from this as cirrus is yknow
He didn't randomly decided to be in a relationship. What about the chaps before they got together? He got to know about cirrus through many situations lmao. I'm not saying I don't feel bad for him but I can admit he's also using long term manipulative tactics. He can tell himself that cirrus's baggage was never his responsibility all his life but the thing is cirrus already had already laid it all in front of him, he is never in a place to weaponize. And I would like to point it out that I don't think he's mad because of this particular situation alone(cirrus not completely telling him why they fought,a lot of it is just for between him & chan il) because skylar did the same thing with chan il i.e never apologizing or clearing up for breach of privacy as he liked where they are.

Well of course he deserves better and he's capable of better, half the reason they should break up. My original comment didn't say anything contradictory. It's just still factual that his mental illness or more accurately emotionally absent behaviors puts more harm to cirrus than himself
