I think bcs when they weren't together it was a matter of soohyun's pride and it was one of the only ways he could keep Eunsung in his grasp (In his mind bcs we all know Eunsung was head over heels for him eventually) But as for when they got together it focused more on them mending their past and Eunsung wanted Soohyun to truly be happy instead of just always feeling inferior and antsy.
