Can I be honest - why is Woowon so traumatised after the death of this shitty father, like he was shitty from the beginning (I don’t know if I didn’t read it properly) but I just dont understand why his death, warrants such a prolonged grieving period, when even Woowon himself knows how shitty his father was
that aint how grief works - i relate pretty hard to woowon, and so understand where he's coming from really well. it's not easy to be rational especially since it involves ur parent, the person u grew up loving. for woowon i believe its also cuz he blames himself a bit for his death, since he never got the closure. moreover, his dad died before atoning for any of his mistakes. there's the trauma from that, the grief over losing ur father... its a lot to unpack. i think its been a really short time to say that he should be already moving on ngl.

Thanks for your message, it definitely does give clarity, it’s just because in the flashbacks, woowon was always scared (such as the “put me down dad scene”) so I just assume he had a rough relationship with his dad to begin with, so I may have not interpreted it in the way is should have been.
That is completely fair. I tend to keep in mind that even in extremely abusive situations kids often seek the approval of the abusive parent, wanting desperately to figure out how they can get that parent's love or regain it if it's a situation that started out happy then devolved into violence and abuse. For Woowon it wasn't always bad with his dad, so it seems as though he was always trying to get the happy parts of his father's memory back. "Maybe if I was good enough of a son, did more, went the extra mile for my dad, placated my dad, tried to show him I forgive him, still love him despite everything, maybe he'll smile at me like before, maybe he'll love me enough to change for the better." When I think of Woowon in these terms, it's easy to see why he would feel so traumatised emotionally by losing his dad even if to us readers it seems more like a relief to be rid of a parent like that.
This is one instance where a side plot was unnecessary—it only drags the main story down.
Each “part” feels so superficial, like the quality of the story has declined. Also, the whole topic around consent just lets the story down, like sure add BDSM, and do it well - however this was not done well souring the whole side story completely imo.
The narrative overall feels scattered and jarring.
