His own father passed away and he became the head of the family.. then his son got shot by an enemy, so because he didn't want to jeopardize his safety, he decided to give the mom custody and had him sent away. It clearly backfired and the son felt like his dad didn't want him or care about him anymore. So it looks like he has lived his life resenting his father for not giving him the attention and affection he wanted
I found this story so annoying, she is so empty inside that even reading about her thoughts is boring. Can we talk about how she manipulated an innocent person just because she was hurt by someone else? And about her revenge, destroying the lives of probably millions of people it does not make the plot interesting. Even if sometimes the Mc are op and they don't show emotions at least they are not so stupid that they destroy an entire empire just because the emperor was bad. At least have the balls to be the empress yourself.
