The characters and plot were enticing, it was all so tragic but not in a cheap way if that makes sense. I have mixed feelings about the start, but fuuuuuuck this is good. Most stories with this premise just use it for fluff - don't get me wrong, I love my fluff - but this one goes further than that. We get to actually see all of the characters struggles and changes, and see how they work through them in their own way. It's so heartbreaking to see him hate himself and dread what he's becoming, but he has his companion to help him through it, and lessen the burden.
