i have been reading since chap 1 was uploading so now that we’ve been left right before the end im feeling a bit antsy… does anyone have any idea when the next one will be updated? haiga n kanae are such a gem they will be amazing together !

https://read.futekiya.com/comic/5fc99fa327153 it looks like august 25!!!

i finally caught up w these last couple chapters … n these past two chapters are my favorite bc u can really see their feelings developing . kanae is really acknowledging haiga as a romantic interest and haiga is learning and taking his feelings seriously … and the depths of them??1!! FUCKKK i don’t know what’s coming next but I’m not readyyy

this couple is always going to be one of my faves but they’re in their troublesome arc right now… shizu’s job DOESNT allow him a lot of flexibility but Minato needs all the reassurance he can get…. If one of them doesn’t start compromising it’ll lead to a lot of conflicts— either minato trusting him more or shizu spending a little less time at his job?? But it would help a lot if they lived together so they could come home to one another ugh

The thing is on Shizuma's end it could be solved more easily, compared to Minato. I mean Shizuma "only" has to find a way to work less, while Minato never trusted or depended on anyone aside from his brother after what happened with his parents (especially his mom). It's not that he doesn't want to 100% trust Shizuma at this point, he just can't and doesn't know how to yet. And that is something that can't change over night.

I'm sorry but I don't agree. It's true that Shizuma's circumstances are comparatively easier to fix, but him just abandoning his current job in order to be more accessible to Minato would only be perpetuating the dysfunctional way in which Minato approaches relationships rather than addressing it. It will only enable him to keep being the way he is rather than help him overcome his psychological baggage. Why should Shizuma sacrifice himself? Only because he's in a healthier emotional position? Both Shizuma's and Minato's feelings are equally valuable and equally important. One is not more important than the other simply because one of them is more vulnerable. Shizuma LOVES his job, he's been wanting to do it since he was little and he's worked hard to be able to work at the place he is now (which if I remember was very prestigious since his classmates were commenting that it was rare for students to be hired to it at the beginning of this season). Also, despite it being hard, he finds the job rewarding and the accomplishment of it means a great deal to him. Why should he give that up? Because Minato has some mental baggage that makes him unable to trust in him? I don't understand people who say he should find another clinic. Why are his feelings and wants and needs any less valid? If Shizuma were a woman and she was considering abandoning her job just because her male partner was feeling insecure, people would be raving that she was stupid and weak. But it's fine to sacrifice himself if he is a man?

I agree with you, I think even if Shizuma *did* decide that he had enough of that clinic and moved to another, these same issues are going to keep popping up again and again unless Minato’s able to move past his insecurities/trust issues. Especially since Minato seems to get really upset when Shizuma’s around/friendly to women and it’s really unlikely that the next clinic he’d end up at wouldn’t have any women working there at all.
Also, adding on to what you said about the clinic being a prestigious place- even if they’re difficult to deal with, Onodera seems to be a very skilled vet so I can see why Shizuma would be willing to stick out the annoying errands instead of just leaving, he could learn a lot from them and it’s hard to pass up an opportunity like that.

I never said that Shizuma should abandon his job or change the clinic, but he should start to use his freetime as such, instead of doing overtime work voluntary. For example if his shift starts at 9 am and ends at 7 pm, then he shouldn't work until 10 pm even though he promised to meet with Minato. Especially if other people are at the clinic and he isn't necessarily needed to be there. If something like that happens once, ok but if it happens more and more often (like it does since he started) that is a problem and Shizuma should seriously think about his work life balance.

He's only been working in this place a couple of months, it's normal for new hires to get the brunt of the work for a while. I don't see anything weird about that, plus, he and his classmate are still in the apprenticeship state, I don't think he can be as free with his hours as that. Also, all medical fields have irregular hours, including veterinary, because patients will not only get sick during the hours the doctor happens to be at the clinic. This is not anything new. All people in relationships with medical professionals contend with these issues. And sure, some break up because of it, but some don't and some remain married for years and years. My point is that Shizuma's current level of busyness and his apparent lack of time should not be taken as the core problem. It is NOT the core problem. The core problem is that Minato has needs because of his emotional trauma that go beyond what the regular person will require from his partner. And the partner in question, in this case Shizuma, shouldn't be held accountable for that. IF Shizuma were to decide that his relationship with Minato is more important than his work and voluntarily decided to lessen his workload (and that way slowdown the advancement of his career), then great, because that would be HIS decision. But talking as if the solution to all their couple problems would simply be to get rid of this job or simply abandon his field altogether (and I say abandon, because again, it's the Medical field, other clinics won't be much different) because it is the "easier" thing to accomplish is very unfair to him. And I don't mean you per se, a lot of people in the comments are remarking that he should just work somewhere else.
