Questionable between consenting adults is different than questionable between an adult and child. Even if u r into shota/pedo stuff, this very specific manga STARTS with a pedo pervert hitting on his students (power dynamic) and he is a straight trash that was beaten up and arrested by Joel himself.

Also, he himself called some adult trying to date Chase as "statutory rape" and threatened to arrest the guy. While it was his jealousy talking, the law is pretty clear where on legality their relationship lies. So the Joel should take lessons from his own damn self and stay away from a high school kid.

As regards Chase, he was hitting on Joel because he thought Joel was his friend's older BROTHER. while he is heartbroken, once he realised it's not a brother but dad, he backed the fuck off like a sensible person.

It's really telling that a fucking teenager has better sense than an adult cop.

The difference is with rape mangas or rape-to-love mangas we KNOW what we are getting into because of tags. This story isn't tagged adult×minor, it's tagged student×student.

People who read this story, expect two high school teens to get together, not a teenager and someone's DAD.

If this had been tagged as parent and student/statutory rape, then people wouldn't be so up in arms about Joel and Chase relationship.
