Genuinely baffled, I feel like the ppl calling this “weird” or saying it was rape have genuinely never had sex with a trusted partner bc wtf do u mean??
Let’s be objective here lol, just to clarify my perspective a bit more because I think some of the reactions are missing context. To be super clear that I absolutely do not condone rape or any kind of non-consensual behavior I’m very much against that. But I also think we need to be careful not to throw words like “rape” or “red flag” around too easily, especially in fictional stories with complicated dynamics.
In this scene, yes, Ash did use sex to try to get Lyle to open up emotionally, but to me, that doesn’t automatically equal coercion. These are two grown men in a long-term relationship. Lyle isn’t a child, he isn’t being manipulated out of ignorance or fear, and he clearly has agency in the situation. If at any point he truly didn’t want it to happen, he could’ve said no or stopped it. In fact, his reaction shows that he wasn’t traumatized by it—he was just being stubborn about something he was hiding (a proposal, not a deep dark secret).
I understand that not everyone sees sex in a relationship the same way, especially when it involves power play or emotional tension, but for a lot of real couples, using physical intimacy to break through emotional walls isn’t abnormal. It’s not the most “therapeutic” method, sure, but that doesn’t make it abusive. Ash didn’t punish Lyle, didn’t degrade him, didn’t hurt him without consent. It was still within the framework of trust and affection that the story has already shown they have.
If this scene makes some readers uncomfortable, that’s valid. But calling it “rape” or a “red flag” without acknowledging the mutual trust and the context between these characters just feels like oversimplifying a nuanced moment.

This is one of those stories that just stick to you, one that is scary realistic with emotions and expectations, I’m so glad I found this, I have to say that reading this while listening to the kind of music it bestows it’s such a different experience, anyway I’d be lying if I said I love the characters individually but everything, even their personalities and traits are so well written that I found myself feeling warm towards them, there’s definitely something fishy going on, there’s a lot of queues that are a little obvious some other not that much, but we’ll see how it goes as for now, one of the best well written BLs I’ve ever come across <3
WOW IM NEVER AGAIN TRUSTING THE OPNIONS OF OTHERS!!! THIS IS REALLY GOOD WTF
neither of them are dumb and have really coesive thoughts and actions based on the personality they apear to have, tho i really liked it as far as it is now, i have my doubts if its gonna stick with the things that made me love this story. 3 things i hated are
how wujins face is sooo emotionless
how the way he tries to apear smarter than haewon, but most of the times haewon wins the argument with a better logic
and how many times wujin said he had to take of his clothes only for him and haewon never asked if wujin himself was not seeing anyone else
haewon is THAT GIRL i love him, such a good character
TRULY!! I’m so surprised how the plot and rawness of this story passed over so many peoples heads, I was even more surprised reading all the negative and misleading comments ngl.
I love that they feel like real people, what I mean by that is that neither of them is fully good or fully bad, they just are themselves in the most interesting way possible.
I do dislike that part of when haewon had to tell him that he was only his but I feel like it makes so much sense knowing wujin’s emotions are based of knowledge and not on real feelings, bc (guessing on his up-to-date actitud) he shows what he thinks is right.
OH AND another theory I have is I don’t remember the specific chapter but I think is the first time they do the deed, he tells haewon something in the lines of “you ruined my plan” that made me sooo aware of the moment they were in bc I feel like those weren’t just brushing words but we’ll see.
I’m glad there’s someone who enjoyed this story as much as I did oh and btw if you ever re-read this I recommend looking the violin tracks they play in the story and listen to them while reading, it’s a game changer, adds a lot more depth imo <3
