Yes..that's from the drama.."Doctors"..they did it cause they were junior doctors not exactly good enough to handle a complicated patients who's in serious condition like life and death which is obviously a dire situation and need a really concrete diagnosis and promt treatment otherwise a person can die.
(I myself am a junior doctor.This situation is pretty normal and common in medical field.)
