uhh lowkey hate the amount of fanservice this has but the plot is just so good. the only girl i hope he ends up with is kaori. her feelings are genuine from what i can tell. like if it was a random girl (someone like the princess or kaede or whatber hef name was) i dont think they would even bother with thanking him for saving their life while he was still chubby and short.
You know what? I'm usually defending women in manga that people call annoying for no reason so if "I" say that I have a problem with a character then you know it's bad. That princess is just a plot device and not much else. Heck, I like the former assassin more than her. Although yes, Kaori is the only good option.

the concept is when espers use their power there is toxin built up in their body, and the guides help to neutralise them to prevent them going rampage. then there’s ranks and matching rate, the higher the efficient their guiding.
also on methods, they can opt to touch or intimate guiding. the latter is the most efficient and you can bond to mark your partner. usually the higher rank esper will mark their guide, since they are sacred and to make them exclusive to themselves.
