So many scenes were changed and omitted, I don't know if they can still pull off this webtoon. But I guess it might be because they are making the story with less angst. If you would read the novel you'd be more pissed than this but the ending was worth it.

Hmm, where should I start? There are so many awful things that have transpired. Surely, it will only make you hate the seme more, but indeed he might not have suffered the same as the uke, but he protected Niannian with all his might, and even opted to disappear from him after all the ruckus just so Niannian will have his happy ending and not suffer anymore because of him. The seme intercepted a knife and bullet for Niannian, protected him from a planned accident all the time without him knowing that it was Yansheng who protected him all these time. The seme deliberately fight against the people who would harm Niannian and when all is said and done he erased all of his traces with Niannian in the internet, and disappeared from him. But, you know the heart knows what it wants, Niannian later knew everything and he went off to find Yansheng, but the latter was afraid of causing pain again to Niannian, but to cut it short, Yansheng pursued Niannian again and promised to protect him, to never hurt him again and submit to him, sure enough he did as he promised and continuously doing so. This made Niannian slowly warms up to Yansheng, there are still problems and trust issues after that but Yansheng proves himself to Niannian more. Yansheng proposed to Niannian in front of his family and close relatives, and friends without Niannian knowing. After so many ups and downs, the got married again, Yansheng recreated their first marriage but this time it was more surreal, intimate, and the feelings were real.
A lot of readers don't want the idea that they ended up, but you know, for me I haven't felt being in love with the person for eight years and offer him unconditional love, that's why I can't just judge from my own perspective. Of course the love that the uke has won't just go away that easily even if the seme was being rude asshole towards him. But Niannian has really loved this person so much, and the seme only realized that he also loves the uke right after their divorced. There are signs that the seme is warm to uke when he's unconscious and jealous when he's with Tang Shuo, he just didn't realize it since he hasn't felt it towards the mistress. Everyone knows in the household and even Zhou Yanfeng his bestfriend that he has something towards Niannian but the seme was blinded by the mistress' awful tricks.
Anyway, my opinion is that the author served a good moral story from this. A lot of tragedies happened that cause Niannian's mentally and physically unstable mostly were due to Yabsgeng, but it was also Yansheng that restored his ubstable mental health to slowly recurperate as well as physically since the seme took care of him from his last accident.
As for Tang Shuo, I felt sorry for his character, the baby is so precious and went so far for Niannian, but at the end didn't get his happy ending with him. But, he will soon find his love redemption but will get hurt again. I just want him to be happy but he has gone so much and don't want to believe in love again. I guess the novel isn't fully complete yet, their story, I mean with Mo Beiyi hasn't ended with grace, so I don't think the author will end it that way.
Plus, there is Zhoi Yanfeng and Tang Lunxuan's story yet so I guess the novel hasn't finished yet for the 2 parties; Zhou Yanfeng and Tang Lunxuan, and Mo Beiyi and Tang Shuo.
