I understand Jia didn’t understand the implications of her “refining” her friend’s work and was just trying to be helpful but that is so fucking insensitive and she lowkey deserved the slap sure her friend could’ve communicated but how could she communicate her feelings without sounding like a sore envious loser/ without making Jia feel guilty for succeeding? She had been quiet for a long time and tried to be supportive and to not show her uncontrollable feelings of envy but this (understandably) was the last straw so I can’t exactly blame her for her reaction to Jia’s “gift”.
