I think maybe guwon was abused but was manipulated into thinking it's normal/a way to show affection. I feel like that would explain why the "villagers" seem so afraid of him even though he supposedly treats them well. Possibly maybe have been exposed to sexual scenes from a young age which would maybe explain why he seemed so disgusted by the kissing but he didn't know about how good sex felt and was curious about it.
