they were both in a horrible situation.i love how the story has no filters on what it wants to discussed— unhealthy relationships,abused, assault, suicide,,etc and leaves the ending as bitter and raw as a black coffee. After all the grief and sadness, the character was still able to go back to normalcy, an abrupt ending like how the suicide of Mariko was in the beginning. One last time, Mariko, in a way, was given justice by shii chan using her ashes to hit a molester even when all her suffering was non ending– one last punch to a cruel person with the help of shii chan, they both were able to help another helpless girl.
