I swear that guideverse is the most toxic genre. I never finish any guidverse story. I read it sometimes just to see where the story going.

Same. This is probably the only guide verse I can stand so far. Still toxic as hell but at least it's interesting. I really don't like the genre at all and don't even bother picking them up. This was actually the first one I read and all the others are just so.....annoying? One-plot only? Same trope different characters? Can't really put my foot on it. Even so, at least with omegaverse there's variety. Guideverse is so limited. You read one, you've read them all. There's that other genre out there too thats starting to pick up. The one with the dom/sub necessity play. That can be brutal depending on character's needs, but at least there's more diversity when it comes to plot. And there are quite a few wholesome ones out there too. But guideverse? No luck with that. It should always come with a "hard-core" and "trigger" tag. Psychological just doesn't cut it.

literally, how are all the guideverse stories all the same? it’s like the authors are getting lazy. tbh omegaverse is not my speed either bc i swear like 90% of em have just rape and/or shame women (esp the bl ones which is odd af). idk the yaoi stories not hitting anymore. i been dropping stories like crazy

I don't see the whole shaming bit on women for omegaverse, but what I don't like that they do is that they've taken to making everyone homosexual in the stories. The betas, too. The women are always with other women, regardless of sub gender. That annoys me to no end. I still like omegaverse a lot, though. Unfortunately, the trend I've noticed with all yaoi is this overly obsessed top who kidnaps the already traumatized bottom after the bottom finally has enough and leaves him. It was the same about a decade ago when yaoi did the whole "imma rape you but its okay because I love you and you love me, we just don't know it yet" trope. It'll stick around for a couple more years then something different will turn up. Unfortunately, everything is either super fluff or super traumatic. There's no in between anymore. That's the bummer.

I agree with you and actually I wrote something similar of what you said in the 1st half about everyone become homosexual in the bl manga. The feedback i got was, they questioned me back 'why straight manga every couple is heterosexual?' I mean- i dont know what to said. I lost my argument there. Have you read 'deliverance of the counterattack'? All couple in the stories are homosexual and it kinda annoying. Personally, I think 'here u are' manhua is the best bl i ever read.

it's a fanfic trope (like werewolf fanfics) original novels and webtoons only come to kind of wellknown in recent years (like reaallllly recent. I think it's only 5 or so years since the term 'guideverse' came to be)
You can find many fics with sentinel!au in ao3.
guideverse's pretty popular among kr bl novels. profundis here is one of the well received ones (for having a background monster plot lol).

I really liked Here U Are. I also liked If You Hate Me So Much, and it's sequel Love Illusion. I think Jackass is still one of my favorite yaoi that's not a webtoon. You should check out my lists. I have many on there that don't follow typical tropes or are just well-written.
But, yes, many people don't know how to have a simple conversation about differences in opinion without getting offended or personally attacking someone. It gets annoying fast, but thats the generation now. Not all of it, but the vast majority. They don't take into consideration statistics or anything. Lesbians are actually not that common. Even here in America it's only about 7% of people that are part of the LGBT community. That's not a lot. I live near Palm Springs (the gay capital of the world) and I've been to gay bars and my best friend is gay. In my 32 years, I've only met maybe 2 full lesbians and one 2 bisexual women. 3 of which ended up with men. And most gay men don't like hanging with lesbians. Lol. And most lesbains are not as they are depicted in yaoi. They're all glorified and elegant and pretty. That's just not statistically probable. Most lesbians, too are very particular about their type and don't change it for anything. Very stubborn group. And I'm not basing those findings on just my friends but what they've told me about their own community. It gets annoying when everyone seems forcibly gay.

Too late, already read it. To be honest, I feel like there are not that many original stories out there, they all copy each other. Like how all movies and books out there all seem to be VERY similar when they first come out. So where is the line between plagiarism and a trend? I saw one author being crucified by the fans of Old Xian, accusing them of plagiarism. The art did look a lot a like, but their writing styles were completely different. The author was harassed so much that they never finished the story and they stopped writing all together. I can name at least 3 different authors or stories that all have the same style of art. I can tell when it is a manhua versus a manhwa based on the art style alone. Does that mean that all manhua authors plagiarize each other? Just the mere mention of plagiarism could ruin an artists career and even their lives. That is a heavy accusation to throw around.

i wish i can find you some stories of what i’m talking about. they will literally have lines like “get your ass wet like a woman” or “hold you like a woman”…..??? how do you even find ways to involve women while the stories are about men. the trend needs to die because there’s no originality no more, and everything is getting boring and generic. also mad disgusting like pls
I hope they will show the background of the alpha dad and maybe how they met and fall in love
