I’m always on Eren’s side no matter what

I can't say I take Eren's side, but I'm definitely in agreement with you on Reiner, Annie, and Bertoldt. What they did was 1000 times worse than anything the others did. I think Connie is just trying to say he wants to let all the hate die, but there's no way in hell they're "the same".

Woow ppl c'mon, in my opinion this manga shows amazingly one important part supraisly many ppl don't think about: that there is no enemies in war, just people who were born in different place. And that is the reason they are killing each other. Because they want to save their family, and most people would be ready to kill strangers to save their own. Because they are taught ever since being born, that the other side is evil and will kill us sooner or later. Look at Gabi (which I personally hate, sorry XD) how she thinks it's the greatest honor to kill other eldians because she is just a kid and this is what she was taught, if she wants her family to be happy and not live like slaves this is what she's gotta do. Others went through the same. I always pitied Reiner and Bertold (Annie looked like she's having fun killing) they were devastated by what they did, they knew when they were older that it's too late and now if they back down their families will pay. The words "We are monsters. We could live 1000 years and never find peace. Just try to imagine that darkness." man, I can feel them. They never wanted any of it, they are just another victims, they knew they had no choice.
Eren knows it too, once he's older, when he was a kid he was screaming at Reiner he'll see to it for him to die most painful death, and when they met when he was older he said to forget it, and that he understands, they are both the same... just born on opposite sides. Eren is killing millions of innocents for the sake of freedom of his ppl. Reiner thought once he had to do the same and went insane. Eren just went cold... Really heartbreaking story.

Yes, you're right, there are just people in war, but you also need to look at the reason and cause behind it. The Eldians are fighting for their survival, the Marlians are fighting for no other reason than out of hate for something that happened over 1000 years ago and seek nothing more or less than to obtain the Titan Shifter powers so they can rule the world and commit total and absolute genocide of Eldians without exception. Are you really going to stand there and tell me that both sides are equal bystanders?

Eeh so, the topic was about Eldians fighting on both sides and if they sould be forgiven or hated. But I'll bite, I like the discussion :)
I agree with you on that the reason is not irrelevant, but again, it's not valid either. Evil is evil. Reiner killing to save his family is not that different from Eren killing to save his country. Should we keep the score, count the procentage? There are millions of innocent ppl dying on both sides, you can't stand in the ashes of millions of dead and say "we had better reason than military from your country".
I don't think to compare the sins is logical in the first place. It isn't measureable. Marleyans' cruelty is not, by any means, justified, but their will to kill the Eldians is understandable. The strong pray on weak. The weak hate the strong. That's just how the world works, it's not something that anyone can argue with, even the psychological studies have proven that. They do not hate Eldians because their grandparents have killed sb, but bc they can do it themselves. And among the strong ones sb will abuse the power sooner or later, so they are trying to be the strong ones, even though one Eldian could kill thousand of Marleyans.
When we see the universe where there are ghouls and ppl are afraid of them, hate them and want them dead nobody second-guesses it, even though ghouls do not choose to be born unable to survive without eating people. Here we are presented with the universe where some ppl can turn into monsters that go on rampage and kill ppl until cut dead. What is there to not understand their fear and hate? As I said, their cruelty is absolutly unforgivenable, but then again, it's hard world-situation to manage and I really can't imagine the solution on my own, would love to hear sb find it though. :)
And final word about Eldians, remembering they can be killing machines -when sb decides to live side by side, let's say, deadly animal, and it's all great but one day he stood on it's tail and it's bitten him to death, ppl would say without any surprise "what the hell was he expecting, if smth is deadly it should be in cage."
