Hot take, but I'm pretty sure the absurdity of Romeo and Juliet is why it's a classic and sort of mother of all cliches. It was sorta the firsts of it's time.
I'm pretty sure not even Shakespeare took his story seriously. If you think about it, the overdramaticness of it is definitely satire. I got a sorta mocking tone while watching Shakespeare's version of how teens love. (Never read the book btw, only the play and films)
FL could lowkey be one of those villains who gets manipulated by "allies/helpers(the red beds) " but unfortunately she's too nice and is an MC so that won't happen.
