no dawg grooming is the deliberate, often sustained process of an adult priming a minor for sex. it's often planned from the start, with the adult gaining the minor's trust only for the end goal of taking advantage of it. where is literally any of that in this story??
here, the caretaker is completely oblivious to his charge's affection and does nothing to encourage it, dude even has his own romantic/sexual partner already. so, any change in their relationship would have to be initiated by the charge (who is definitely not a minor) completely out of his own volition. any imbalance in power would show if the caretaker is using his authority/physical strength/designation as an alpha/etc to coerce his charge into having sex with him, but what we're probably gonna see instead is the charge having to convince or coercing his caretaker into having sex with him.
this trope plays into subversion of expectations (the "less powerful" taking initiative/control over the "more powerful"), not an endorsement of grooming lmao.

1) don't make it so the first rebuttal to your argument is a correction. 2) real life is NUANCED. there are many relationships that seem weird at first glance but will make sense once you actually take the time to understand them. same goes with fiction. 3) i used the word 'probably', meaning even i don't know for sure how the author will tackle this relationship. maybe this will be a character study, where the issue of raising the charge will be thoroughly dissected. maybe not! maybe it will just indulge in fantasies that

I used "Asian bl" because is a fact that in the Asian bl industry is really common to see relationships when one rape/manipulate/abuse the other. 80% of the stories have rape or better, forced sexual acts that no one care to address as what they are aka rape, abuse.
