It's honestly more unrealistic if she's only ever known blood and war and then suddenly she comes onto the scene fully understanding feelings. That's not realistic at all. She's slow when it comes to feelings and it makes fcking sense ntm that the prince hasnt done anything ro assure her of anything.

Like some of yall came here without reading properly and with completely different expectations of her. It's always been stated since fcking chapter 1 that she will and has always prioritized the rebuilding of pervaz and her people. She's never known greed bc she didnt have the luxury for that. She's always only ever learned to think of others as she is their leader. Her people have been suffering for decades and have only just started getting back on their feet and yall expect her to just rearrange her priorities bc yall dont like how she very understandably lacks an understanding of feelings? Mind u, she grew up without her mom or anyone to explain emotions to her. Since she was a child, her father has ingrained the sense of responsibility into her so she's always carried that burden with her to the point that she doesnt even think of herself anymore bc that's how she grew up (as in, she grew up thinking of her people and her people alone, making sure they survive). Yall wanna mock her for not understanding feelings whennu cant even understand her circumstance.

Yknow, I still don't get the idea of how succession goes on in this world, are girls preferred more as a candidate? But then why did Al sound hesitant about revealing her real sex to her grandfather like it would have affected the succession in a bad way? （/TДT)/

As for succession, I think it was mainly the man who inherited the title but there also case a noble (acknowledge by the royal) may choose the matrilineally inheritance system, even in some case was using merit system so both male/female heir had opportunity to be the heir. From what I see is that the grandfather family was choosing the successor either by matrilineal way or merit system, that's why it look confusing.

And for why Al was scared to reveal her gender was because all of family member (outside the trashy one) know Al as a male not as a female, and Al herself has been raised and brainwashed through life that she was a male, so she must act and think like one also she never thinking her own body was a body of female (this was one of solid reasonable explenation why she get scared the shit out when find out her first menstruation, like a clueless kid). This is just show how bad the situation itself without explicitly showing it.
