Well he’s 18 which is considered an adult by law... just like 18 year olds can’t date anyone under 18 because they would be considered minors and charged as an adult if they were caught dating them.

Age of consent is the age where the government of your country deems you old enough to make your own sexual decisions - so you can do it with whomever you please no matter the age gap as long as they are also at the age of consent.
