I usually don’t have a problem with reading dubcon in fiction, but this was on another level. Not only did the seme continually assault the uke every time the uke was drunk and didn’t remember but he also kidnapped, confined and rapped him. I don’t care how long you’ve been “friends” or if you’re in love, that’s just not on. It’s ridiculous that the uke who never even liked any men or even considered it is suddenly in love with the seme. I just could not, for the life of me, find anything I liked about this. How the two main characters came together, Yoshino as a whole just irritated the shit outta me and I couldn’t stand how Kota just let shit happen. For the majority of the story. Plus this is that guy that your best friend wanted nothing to do with. Isn’t that a red flag right there. I also didn’t feel any chemistry between Yoshino and Kota at all. I really liked this story. It represents the title completely. I can sympathize with both of the main characters. Relationships are hard, especially when there are things you hate about yourself and when you have trauma due to things that happen in your past. I’ve been in Tora’s place before and when you love someone that much, you’re willing to be with that person even if they’re with other people. I loved that it showed the growth and change that people go through and that your actions have consequences. It was a very realistic take on relationships.
