OK SO this is everything i understand so far so i dont forget:
- 2nd kowloon can be thought of as an parallel dimension that houses dupes of everyone that lived in OG kowloon b4 it got demolished irl (whether dead or alive) --> inferred that habits and innate preferences of OGs r copied to dupes but since they house no memories of their past and simultaniously create new memories in the "present" kowloon their personalities can end up diff like reiko!!
- 2nd kowloon resulted from gene terrera interfering with universe qi and resonating with a certain aspect of human memory/emotion to birth this world --> which is why even some ppl like youmei who didnt even know ab kowloon can see it bc qi flows through the whole earth
- OG ppl from the "real" dimension can see and go into 2nd kowloon as long as they fit certain criteria, but if the OG & dupe meet the dupe poofs
- my theory is that the 2nd kowloon dupes r the utopia "happiest/ideal" versions of the OGs who then make memories and create attachments i.e. dupe shaohei dressing as a lolita like he wants to w/o growing up & kujirai reiko-A not having any memories of the past (assuming it's related to her parents & trauma) so she doesn't have to take the sedatives which were most likely affecting her depression-like mental health. i think its bc the universal qi is able to also understand human inner desire and the gene terrera translates that
- bc 2nd kowloon isn't technically real to the OG universe and is constantly trying to feed an ideal it rewrites memories of danger to its existence i.e. youmei forgetting her chat w/ white hair dude... but i think smth's going wrong w/ the gene terrera bc glitches like earthquakes & youmei going back to her pre-plastic surgery appearance r happening. is it bc of too much outside OG ppl interference like hebinuma corp or is the 2nd kowloon world rejecting OG ppl just like it doesnt allow dupes to exist outside its universe?
- kudou said he's been here since "summer" to gwen but since 2nd kowloon is always in summer weather how long he's been in kowloon is unknown
- miyuki wants to take revenge on his dad for being an asshole and only wanting his bio son back so he's using the gene terrera project and kowloon to make his son but without the memories somehow so the dad will feel despair
now questions:
- still confused abt the zirconian clones. i thought the dupes were made out of this thing but miyuki said reiko isnt a zirconian but a generic existence of the kowloon huuuuh
- the criteria for seeing kowloon... i wanna say significant regret and longing for the past or a place to belong (henceforth nostalgia theme but still idk)
- OG reiko past like girl what da eff happened........
