You're right, twists are bound to happen, but I don't think the twin theory holds water. There's no reason for Ciel to pretend to be his twin - if he had one, the twin is dead, he's still the heir, any changes in personality can be explained by his experiences. Plus, I think Soma would have been questioning "Ciel" for attacking him/acting like they're strangers.
All that aside I think Agni could have survived had he blocked the cupboard door from the inside - the door opens in, he could have used his weight to hold it closed. :( I liked Agni.
