In short, cultivation genre contains action and it's like an enlightenment aspect gained by the soul (this can be mental, physical, psychic, etc. and covers various elements of either nature or something unknown) which can be increased through willpower, (not everyone can have cultivation potential) consumption of specific/precious pills, gaining opportunities (fate/destiny) , legacies, secret treasures specifically cultivation, Qi absorption and so on.
Cultivation follows romance in general due to improvement in body and it being harder to live a lonely life above 100s and 1000s of years as they are defying heaven. As a side effect, they face inner demons of their karmas, whether good or bad. That also depends on the plot how they utilise their wits on different aspects.
Nah naoto so real hazuki needs to grow tf up and stop being so darn insecure
All the time he suspected naoto, it was only because he was insecure and and didn't believe in naoto
Abt time naoto stopped getting pushed around by his partner's negative emotions
Hazuki acting like it's his fault naoto was assaulted
Like "you can't sense danger that's why you were assaulted" victim blaming
Like as if he totally wasn't in school, a place that should be safe, where he got assaulted
