When I started reading I was a 100% on JJ's side and hoping for Leo to realize his wrongs and improve.
But ch.13 changed my perspective idk likeee call me dramatic, I'm sorry, but getting violent on ur ex-partner (u can read the chapter: JJ violently grabbing Leo's hair and forcing his dick in his mouth) is when I'm like, bitch wtf is wrong with you.
So yeah, idk I now rather JJ suffer cuz even if Leo was a shitty brat in the relationship he doesn't deserve that lol. In general, like, no, being obtuse, dumb and immature doesn't mean he deserves that kind of treatment. But who knows, maybe I'm exaggerating.
I'll keep reading because I like drama tho and this is fiction anyway; just saying I don't like JJ anymore because of that.
It was poorly done by the author really. That chapter was giving - JJ serves the same courtesy as what Leo gave him. Leo before would make them have sex almost anywhere - like in a storage room after winning. Given JJ's personality, he wouldn't have wanted that. He most likely refused but Leo insisted. So come ch 13, JJ was just doing the same. BUT it should have been just a blowjob. Nothing more to make it even with ch 1 but the author went up to a 100 with ch 14 - which was unwarranted.
Then, again, we've never actually seen Leo treat JJ like that in any chapter (or if I'm missing, I'm genuinely asking, point me the chapter where Leo is being sexually aggressive towards JJ). I get your interpretation, but honestly doesn't change my mind about JJ.
The aggression is there because JJ is upset because he is again treated as a doormat and Leo is expecting him to just go along. But it's not the aggression that was being paralleled there, it's Leo doing whatever he wants, whenever he wants.
Ok, and JJ decided to be aggressive in his approach, which again I didn't like.
Look, at the end we all gonna have different opinions about the characters, so there's no point really trying to change somebody's mind about one (unless they're spreading misinformation AKA saying a character did things that didn't happen or weren't implied in the original source, then I can understand cuz that means the person is basing their likeness or dislike of the character on things that aren't true, but that's a whole other point, sorry I tend to extend myself on u related stuff). If u still like JJ that's cool, ur fine, I don't and that's fine.
It was never my intention to change your mind. I was just explaining what the chapters were supposed to mean or what the author was trying to do, but also pointing out that the author messed up on executing it. If you don't like JJ, then fine. Regardless we like the character or not, point is the consistency of the character and the flow of the story was messed up based on what was built up from that point.

For us readers, we see his thoughts so we know he does. But in the plot, not really.

We could've imperfect characters having a character development trying to improve themselves and their relationship but it's easier to just add these scenes like the 80% of BL manhwa autors.
Don't get me wrong I don't think every BL should be a masterpiece with nice deep characters and good plot, at the end of the day authors make stories mostly for themselves and that's valid and respectable, but as a reader idk it ends up boring me, why waste so much potential. Anyway.
Guess Hate Mate stays being my fav BL with the topic of imperfect MC done in a great way.
I suggest reading Dark Heaven, both couple are imperfect but have a happy ending

Also I don't mind if they look more feminine, there's nothing wrong with feminine men (because there's nothing wrong with feminity in general). They do look kinda younger but they're still on their twenties I think (?) so it doesn't really bother me.
