I personally appreciate the comments as long as they don't make the comments really huge and squeeze them in a corner or sth, it's esp helpful on mangas bc lots of japanese terms get explained in tn comments and I find it useful to understand the scene.

hate hate hate HATE monologues like even if they're done well I swear there's a better way to go about the dialogue instead of an unprompted long speech, I prefer when it's smart and concise dialogue that gives away a lot over monologues that are often misused or done poorly that make the scene seem extremely forced and unnatural
I'm so glad the author didn't choose to do massive monologues to make the story make sense and instead chose clever dialogue writing, monologues would have definitely ruined the thrill of reading this
