I like Cesare as a character more than I thought. Normally I would immediately hate a man of his character but I enjoy reading about him, thats why I like him as a character. He feels complex, well written, and well thought character. Probably more than even Adele herself.
He is selfish, arrogant, has a bad temper, and an idiot when it comes to love. He has a lot of thing he doesnt know and understand because he has always been raised to be alone, free, selfish, and lacking of love. He cannot even figure what he is feeling towards adele is not just lust but a love. He seems like a shallow trash that only ever act selfishly, but he never actually forced adele when she actually refused and say no. As a person who doesnt understand the concept of loving someone, he thought that what others, and even adele, seeks for him is what he "have". Thus he tried to "buy" even Adelaide's will to sleep with him. It feels like he is developing as a character. He went soft without him realizing it, then went back to his bad temper because he couldnt have another way to vent his frustation.
As a reader his actions frustates me but he keeps me curious. I want to see how he will grow. I want to see how he realize that he too, can love as much as his parents does. I want to see him sad and cry even muahahahaha, because he finally understand pain.
Lately he has been more expressive. He looks visibly hurt by Adele's firm rejection, and her statement on how he is a person who could not be sincere. Must I say though, he may be much more sincere than he looks. Its just, he is used to never think or care about how others feel or think about him so he never control his tongue and actions, and now he is realizing how much his mere foolish actions and remarks is hurting Adele. He is constantly facing shocks recently lol. He even have finally able to say that he likes adele more than he thought. I look forward to how he will grow from hereon.
A complete hot take but aside from the overly insane artworks, Cesare is probably the main reason I kept reading this. He is not a boring character, and the author shows us so much of him, as a male LEAD should be. Not just a romantic partner of the main character. A refreshing, complex and absolute trash male leads that learned how to love. Slowly but surely.
omg, you just described him perfectly!
we are on the same side, i hate ML who is nonchalant and boring but it doesn't mean i like bad guys or red flags.
It just means he's developing to be better, and also he feels very human to me sometimes. he's not that prince who come out from a fairytale-like story.
he slowly learning, no one able to guide him how to be gentle, he just learn from his experience and thinking. but of course we cannot let aside his bad action, but at least he starting to realized.
i also like the FL so much, and not only she's mysterious for the people in manhwa, but also us as the readers!
i wish happiness for them both and also the fiancee (not that girl)
Yesss ikr?? Its not like I like Cesare's way of doing things, his actions and words are all trash lmaoo but we were shown the process of him getting better and learning instead of him suddenly becoming a saint. We were shown his confusion towards his own emotions. Thats what making him interesting.
I think the characterization of the characters in this stroy is so good, that they make the FL less exposed because she was SUPPOSED to be "mysterious" (as u said) to even us the readers.
Like, Cesare is definitely a red flag but definitly not because he was rotten to the core. Because someone rotten cannot start learning and cannot change. Thats probably why I cannot wish him demise and ended up wishing for his happiness instead when he finally has changed for the better and reflected on his action (same as u!)
i agree with you a lot i just wish women were allowed to have the flaws he has in these stories
its always like cesare is so mean to her and treats her like trash and adele is a perfect saint who just takes it and is a victim at every point. multifaceted characters should be baseline for all stories but it doesnt feel like fls get that chance
which im not even sure what could change for her here because of the baseline premise but still idk let women be awful too!
Lmaoo actually I feel like we just haven't encountered a female lead/any female characters that are red flag, but written as good as Cesare. I mean... usually they're disgustingly born bad without an ounce of remorse, or they're badly written just because the author need some annoying chara
The closest case is probably Aria from "the villaniness turns the hourglass" cuz that woman is real villainess behavior lol. Manipulative af.
After seeing Cesare, now I REAAALLY wanted to see a bad female characters that also slowly learning and realizing her mistakes too!
no literally! fls are never allowed to be awful like the mls. theyll make villain side characters to pick on the fls and make them into these innocent deer characters and im sick of it! i believe in letting women be just as abusive as these men get to be!
aria is a good one, she has moral gray spots i really enjoyed, another one i can think of is the predatory marriage between the king and the paladin but the pg13 version on here makes it look horrible
TBH i think its a main character syndrome... they aren't allowed to be the villain cuz if they are bad what will the villain do lol. Would be interesting if there's a manga or novel where the villains are the main character and the heroes/heroine is the "villain" of the story cuz they kept getting in our villain mc when they're about to do something bad lolol. Kinda like moriarty but darker)
And probably readers wanted the fl to be likeable that's why?. Personally i also want her to be awful but NOT bad enough to be disgusting.... she is our heroine so i need her to be awful but still likeable heheh
OH AND I REMEMBERED ONE with morally grey fl. if u have read it before its called, <The One Within the Villainess> gave u read this? The fmc is also similar to Aria!
oh yeah for sure its a thin line for making a character have bad traits, so it feels like a lot of stories just kind of follow the same trait patterns, which is why i get so frustrated with the abusive ml and the doormat fl setup. im honestly just a freak4freak lover, if they dont match each others energies then i lose interest
and omg i love the one within the villainess i almost listed that one! its one of my all time favorites genuinely just so well done, the fl never truly falling in love with the ml and just overall her attitude of treating everyone as pawns for the one person she truly loves i kneel my one track minded manipulative queen
The art is superb, Yujin and Aaron are too hot for Godsake. BUUTT. Honestly a bit too much smut, they're hella hot for sure. But I want to know more about Yujin and I want to see Yujin succeed, I want to see the outcome of the movie, and seeing their relationship grows. I love the sexy tension they have when they're having a skinship other than actual sex. I love to see how they both actually melted for each other. I need more of those and reduce the sex scene. I want to see them cuddle, kissing, talking, acting, and singing moree. The part when Yujin finally got his own spotlight and Aaron got his breathe taken is my favorite scene. The singing in the rain scene too. Both are such a beautiful scene tbh. I wish I can see more of them.
Orange head is too ugly to even debut... then I thought , oohh maybe he's the one kissing someone's ass... but the I thought again... would someone be willing to sponsor him... with that ugly face...
Hummm then it must be connection, or he started kinda average but is too arrogant and ended up neglecting himself or him using drugs. Especially those empty eyes, and teribble panda eyes... Yup i think I got it right.
Okay, I only started reading this and read the comments. I stand with the I don't like the ex. Am I a woman? Yes. Do I hate woman? Not at all. But do I hate the ex? Yes.
I understand its okay for her to leave him because he moves at a different pace than her, but leaving while telling him that he's a lazy scum is... Definitely not okay. Also to create a villain character that has such a bad traits with doomed ending but then saying that he resembles that teribble character so much. Like... i dont see a trace if Deculin in him. Like wdym he's your inspiration in making a villain wtf....
Hey, a woman is allowed to want more. I'm not saying she is wrong for wanting more. I don't think that people who complains are complaining about that part. But making ur ex felt like he's the laziest people alive sucks so much.
"If he loves her he should change for her" same goes for her tho. She could tolerate him more if she loves him. Or try to motivate him in a way to make him actually felt more driven to move. But I guess her loves stops there and although its totally fine to chose to separate when she obviously felt he is not enough for her, totally no need to call him lazy when they separate and make a whole teribble villain after him, as if he is the villain in their old relationship. That makes her sucks so much. Not because "she just wants a better man"

NOOO Please tell me there's another side story after side story 14 you can't end the sotry like that
