Congratulations to the author too but I’m sad to see you guys go. This manhwa is so special to me because these two clearly love each other very much but their reasonable fears hold them back. However it isn’t just a source of angst but something they are actively trying to work through it. I love them, they are my favourite ongoing manhwa couple (beating out even Luke and Andrew from Nerd Project for me).

Even though we pretend it wasn’t really an issue, class really is something that can get in between friendship. But here it’s just so much worse. Song rik has been abused so bad he thinks the only way to be together is to be each other’s whole world, honestly the way he acts would lead to a violent and scary idea of family/relationship. I think he has a lot of growing to do, but it’s so hard when you have no one in your corner apart from someone who’s also dealing a lot. The bullying was fucking awful man, orchestrating people to cut down your friend in the way that would make him feel the worst is digusting. I’m glad that jinhyeong cut him loose. He recognised how bad things were and how much worse it can get. Imagine getting bullied by your friend and then them demanding you cut your bio family out to depend solely on them so you can be together. That’s crazy.
But GOD. I cannot still digest telling your former friend/ now bully that they deserved to be abandoned by their mother because of how much they resemble their father who abused them. Fuck. It’s using the same tactics as song rik did initially, digging in where it hurts, but having it said vicariously while the others don’t understand it’s a deliberate dig vs in a setting where the whole school would come to know how bad someone’s life is, knowing it won’t lead to sympathy but mockery is crazy. I think the reason jinhyeong couldn’t ’look people in the eye’ apart from just song rik’s expression is probably that he realised that same thing, realised how far he pushed and down he kicked song rik.
