man reading about hyunsuk's unrequited love was so poignant. Growing up lgbtq is so tough in general, and being in love with someone dear to you not knowing if you could ever tell them not only because it may be unreciprocated but because there's a real chance you'll lose them forever, only to learn that there may have been a time you could've been with them later on.... yeah it's painfully understandable
HELP i decided to read the mtl of spanish translation of the novel and if you think Jang Jaeyoung has it Bad for Sangwoo in the manhwa reading the novel is straight up embarrassment regarding his sheer level of simp
May I know then why did u say "reading the novel is straight up embarassment regarding his sheer level of simp"
Cause if u remember in vol 4 ch 3 , jaeyoung literally did everything within his power to confront and win sangwoo also he waited so patiently for sangwoo to finally come to terms with his feelings ,accept them and confess to him, he literally treated him like a baby
So how can u call him merely simp ?
ah i feel like my tone of saying that wasn't communicated well enough, it was mostly meant as a joke, not a criticism of his character, something along the lines of 'lol wow this man is very much in love'. Like I mentioned, he stands his ground and works towards what he thinks is best for both him and sangwoo (said specifically in regards to vol 4), I really like him. Hes not merely a simp haha he's a well written character, who just also happens to simp for his love interest. Being a simp isnt bad ya know, esp in romcoms and romance genres where it mostly comes across as sweet/endearing (▰˘◡˘▰)
Oh I get u now ,the way u wrote that in the comment almost mislead me lol but I m really relieved now ,first when I read ur comment,I just couldn't ignore it ( won't lie it kinda pissed me)cause I personally love jaeyoung's character tho he was annoying in start but I guess I understand his anger cause he was held back a year cause of sangwoo but again it was his fault too ,but later in novel I totally fell for his character I mean //( ꈍᴗꈍ)// ,tbh I started reading it for sangwoo's robotic character but ended up falling in love with jaeyoung haha ,he is such a perfect boyfriend material especially that one scene when he bought food, fruits and heat pack for sangwoo after their first sex and also worked part time job in his place ,it just made me fall head over heals for him haha
right?? My initial impression of him was him being (endearingly) annoying but hes just... so good... I fucking love this dude lmao he's my favorite character from the novel too. I initially had doubts about how he and sangwoo would get along since they're so different but they play off of each other so well, a great couple (≧∀≦)
1. The artstyle is why I initially stayed (when there were only 4 chapters out) bc honestly it FUCKS, angy knocked it out of the ballpark and it's perfect for the way this novel needed to be adapted. so glad to have that reaffirmed
2. reread recotextualized the story for me bc I made it a concious effort to see stuff from Jaeyoung's pov, and tried to empathize with him (not very hard). He's far less of an asshole than I thought he was. Also man when you're seeing things from sangwoo's perspective in early chapters it really helped that jaeyoung was constantly made out to be so hot (seriously, who looks good in all red when they have Auburn hair) bc it made sticking around a bit easier back then.
3. Jang Jaeyoung is so fucking funny and irrational. Sangwoo didn't even remember Jihye's family name or major and in his brain she and sangwoo were getting married in 8 years (with sangwoo still wearing the fucking cap). My man took out the RAM of his 2nd laptop (I don't think he's stupid enough to overload his primary one with files and softwares specifically so it could be formatted) and told sangwoo that it fell out of the casing. Not only that, he even carried around the RAM, OS, and a backup harddrive so he could get his crush's (the ComSci major resident genius) prolonged attention. what a loser. he cracks me up.

the detailing in the backgrounds in this manhwa is some of the well executed and immaculate ones I've ever seen. Even tho they reuse certain frames/motifs it always looks fitting and artful.
so true! this is unique! (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
