Another story that had so much potencial and the author managed to ruin it by making things overly dramatic e irresponsibly approaching abusive behavior.
Suha is so freaking awesome, free spirited, hard working and knows how to stand up for himself, and yet the author decided to make him just sit at the corner and be “ok” with being sexually abused by his ex after he was finally over him and currently emotionally manipulated by the new boyfriend.
The arc of Suha showing up at the ex’s place to pick up Hui: they had actual proof Suha was assaulted and did ***nothing***?? Jiwoon was sent a picture of the guy forcing Suha to blow him (that’s rape) and Suha had bruises all over his face! Why would one not go to a police station and press charges? And why just go to Jiwoon’s place and a few days later have sex as if nothing happened? So messed up.
Just what kind of relationship have you had in oder to write something like that as if it were “normal”, “natural”, “something that happens on a daily basis”? So so so irresponsible.
"Irresponsibly approaching abusive behavior" is one of the biggest things that authors do that piss me off so f much!
About this arc you mentioned: it's revolting. I hated it. But the characters are supposedly to be mega rich corporate men. Redhead is an abuser and always gets away with his stuff and he was with someone who dealt with drugs. He *knows* how to get away with shit, Suha probably isnt the only one hes abused.
It's not simply show up in the police office to press charges... it's way more complicated than that. And to be in a homossexual abuse is even more taboo in Korea than we can imagine. I feel like it'd be a scandal and Suha wouldn't win anything with it.... he'd loose his job and his life the way it is. That's why Jiwoon preferred to go without any alarm and talk with investigators to put the guy in prison... at least that he could do.
Yeah but mental health isn't discussed much it was very irresponsible and awful to Suha. He's free spirited but not always the victim can fight back. If they fight back, it gets worse to them. Suha knew that.
Yes, I agree 100% with you jdns I guess we read so much bl and we're sooo used to this type of narrative that it doesnt stand out the way it should.
But I don't think Jiwoon is not a bad character but now he's doing shitty things because he's not in his right mind. I mean, he was abused since he was a child so it's understandable he's got things so work on.... but yep. Def hate the way the story is going

Really wasn’t aware of how culturally prejudiced towards homosexuality things can be in Korea, thanks for enlightening me on the matter. About Jiwoon: don’t think he’s a bad person either, but he’s been getting pretty yandere for my taste. Hope they’ll manage to overcome that trait.
Still, things are getting too messed up for me to actually enjoy reading it. I’ve currently been avoiding stories with that kind of plot. Normalizing abusive behavior on MxM relationships is way too recurring, can’t really read and be ok with it anymore. Fetishizing relationships’ just not my cup of tea.

It's such a pity, I like Jiwoon so much! I don't think he's getting yandere, he's acting like because of his fears. I hope the point of the story will be he understanding how wrong he was (before it gets too late, I hope)
Ah, that's nice. I hope you find many other rlly good manhwas
I’m currently trying to emotionally torture myself and haven’t been able to find a story that has a similar plot and sounds nearly as interesting, if you know something pls hit me up ( ̄∇ ̄")
