I love Ruth so much it hurts sure, some people may find his attitude is off since he's talking the way he does to Maxi but remember he's a really talented wizard who was entrusted with a lot of work in an old territory with a fairly new lordship. He believes who could have been doing so much more if he wasn't entrusted to babysit the lady of the house.
Also, we can't expect to have Maxi suddenly be a badass protagonist overnight. She's been abused her entire life, and that's all she's ever known. It should never be romanticized but I like how realistic the portrayal of the effects of abuse is to an individual. As someone who has been abused from childhood, I can relate to her a little bit as it had took me years to finally get over it. The difference between Maxi and tho is that she's working so hard to overcomw it that she doesn't even notice she's taking such great progress. Well get to that character development y'all want, just baby steps
Same. And honestly I would ask them to give me someone who doesn't resemble the duke at all so I wouldn't remember that boring sex and disgusting behavior.
