That's fair, I can understand that. But the ML is only by fake Ophelia's side out of obligation. Blondie would have been right there to if it had not been for Ophelia's letter. He only cares now because Ophelia put him in a position to care. ML was the only one who actually cared about her from the beginning. He didn't do anything because Emilia didn't want anything to be done, he was trying to respect her boundries and choices.
