its honestly taking way too long to reveal her backstory, if it doesnt get reveal in the next few chapters i just gonna drop this for a bit. i feel like the max amount of chapters it should take for a mc to reveal their backstory is 20 chaps especially when its extremely relevant to the plot. the creator couldve gotten away w making her backstory a plot twist if it wasnt so obvious that some of the characters are mixed up in her past, like revealing bits and pieces of her past without knowing who the specific characters are, then slowly introducing them. but it feels like its dragging now because we know that her past has so much to do with whats going on w her.
I would argue that there doesn't need to be a fixed amount of chapters for a backstory to be revealed but the important part is the approach.
Like dropping bits and pieces every couple chapters and having a somewhat boring story if you take out those elements, that's what's making this feel like it drags on.
If this had a larger overarching plot or working towards it or the author took time to built their world instead of writing comedy into the dialogue, this would be fine.
I remember reading "Tower of God", it was only after 50+ chapters that a huge plot twist was revealed (the betrayal of a certain someone).
But it worked because the rest of the chapters were engaging, the world felt vast and the
side characters didn't feel empty next to the Mc.
This Manhwa basically has nothing if you take out the Mc, it feels empty and those hints at her backstory don't make for a good substitute as a plot.
imo... i love the character designs of the fl and ml but the art feels so stiff... they both just feel so expressionless i think thats why it feels like they have no chemistry bec body language in the art isnt portrayed well. i tolerated it in the first 30 chapters, but once they started developing feelings for eachother it wast rlly captured in the art. it felt like i was watching stick figures when they had their little moments :/

its gonna be revealed soon but its crazy how he genuinely means what he says to ruby. his “love” for her isnt rooted from obsession everything he says is what he actually wants from the bottom of his empty heart. id say that what he feels towards her is based off delusions. gosh i hate his guts.
i've been seeing alot of people debate against liking ellen or not but all i can say is that i DONT like her whatsoever. id gladly have a debate over this bec I HAVE TIME.
1. ellen is a constant bystander towards rubys torment in the house. ellen is probably more involved in house affairs than izek is bec hes always on missions. despite him being away, he acknowledged those rumors and put them to an end.
2. ellen's nanny backstabbed her and insulted her mother, knowing that ellen still loved her mother despite all trauma she inflicted into her. the nanny basically used ellen and izeks mother as a shield to prove her point to ruby.
3. after the incident with her nanny she contemplates on whether or not she should apologize knowing shes in the wrong, but doesnt. unlike iz, who didnt like her at first, his prejudices aside seperate from her family and actually got to know her.
4. ellen's pov of her mom's illness was when she was a child. shes never tried understanding ruby's struggles through an adults perspective. she only made the connection that they had the same disorder. shes never considered that they have the same tendencies but different trauma.
I agree with you. Whenever Ruby was treated harshly Ellen never batted an eye and chose to never believe her first until Izek confronted her about it. If I’m not wrong further in the novel she does apologize and reflects on her actions!
yes! one of my favorite things that izek told her was “shes your family” at the end of the day, ruby is closer to her than freya despite the emotional connection. & her not standing up for ruby during freya and ruby’s conflicts just shows how much she respects her. thus, making her reputation worse in the duchy.
I get your points but its also important to consider that freya and the head maid were there for ellen since her childhood. Freya is her childhood friend and the head maid was like a parental figure to her. So it makes sense that she would have her own doubts about rubys statements, because for ellen she is just a 'stranger' who got married into the family. I think everyone would believe their clone friends and parental Figuren more than some stranger. I hope you understand what i mean. But without doubt after the head maid incident she should have opened her eyes more
honestly the thing that ruby deserves the most is being her authentic self without fearing neglect and betrayal. it so sad that her past life and now has just been filled with narcissistic/ selfish people (minus her sister in her past life). i can NEVER hate her. i genuinely love ruby and izek sm. izek is so patient with her. theyve had their ups and downs, but izek is one of the first mls that ive read who doesnt just rush into trying to solve the mc's emotional and physical trauma because of how it might affect ruby mentally.
people who dont like seeing developments between gestella and kayden together are haters kayden is canonically old asf T_T he cant go on without a gf. its not gonna dilute the story bec gestella is a bad b who rlly doesnt need a man, you people act like the creator made him a whole harem. but i doubt that romance is gonna be a big thing in the story. since theres been romance in the story its just hidden by the major plot points.
u would be the type of person who would then turn around and say to others if the story had FMC that she is a girl boss and doesn't need a love interest
my friend, whats youre point, bec i implied that gestella doesnt need a man if kayden rejects her? youre pointing out the obvious. i gen dont know if youre trying to come at me or not. i was just saying that people need to chill abt hating her bec most typical shounen manhwas only have female characters to ego boost the mc without them actually being in the plot, and in this case it isnt like that, bec gestella is incorporated into the story well.

tbh i dont mind if they end up together or not its just if they were to id be happy as long as gestella's personality and physical capabilities still shine. thats all that matters to me. knowing the creator, i dont think he'd make her seem weak and incapable without him, if that were the case id be disappointed a bit. i was just annoyed bec of all the people hating on her bec all shes done is misinterpret his battle letter for a love confession. we still dont know if she likes him like that or not.

this is honestly the most realistic fighting manhwa ive read in terms of the mc's self motivation. and i like how his internal monologue is consistent with how he presents himself to others. realistically, he's a coward thats been constantly beaten down and he should stay a coward (what i mean by that is that it isnt instinct for him to know the things he learns, and to have the drive to fight people when all theyve done is beat him.) he should stay like that until he's confident in his own skills and strength that he's able to rely on his own abilities. instead of magically adapting.
