About right, but MM's mom actually loves Rakan. Also, I've read far ahead and I think she hopes he'll redeem her. And right, things were getting on track. Unfortunately, he had to find 'power' and also save his uncle. (He treats this uncle as his only family since both of them have the same disability- so when he heard something happened, he rushed not knowing that something was brewing on MM's mom's side. Plus his family didn't even inform him of all the letters MM's mom sent to him since he wasn't home; he was basically on the battlefield (I think?) It wasn't until he came home and found out about what happened. Also, he found an envelope with a 'dried twig' inside and he broke down. It was sad. Both parties were understandable but their fates are equally sad. So Rakan treated Mao Mao preciously and supports her subtly. He also is a daughter-con just to let you know.
