People needs to vent their emotions at some point. If the guilty pleasures are vented in fictional creation and not in real life, it's fine by me. I have no right to point my fingers at others. I'm no saint. We all commit sins at some point of our lives. Who am I to tell others what us wrong? I don't want to be that hypocrite.
I hope you will come to realize that what youre saying is so so awful and completely unacceptable. People dont just „vent“ their emotions when it comes to grape and cp. They consume such fictional content to the point where it no longer satisfies them so they go into the real world to do these horrendous crimes. You dont have to be a saint to call out such inhumane and awful content. We all commit sins yes but all sins are not equal. There is a big jump between comitting a mere sin and straight up murdering/graping someone.
A sin is a sin whether it harms people or not. It's a waste of time to talk about morality in a fictional world. Just because you disapprove it doesn't mean immorality will go away from the fictional world. If you can't handle it, avoid it.
I strongly, strongly disagree that it's a “waste of time” to talk about morality in fiction. Fiction CAN desensitize people to harmful behaviors. To say that it's meaningless to discuss the morality of fictional content is to ignore how deeply fictional content influence people’s beliefs and attitudes over time. And while not every sin in fiction causes direct harm, normalizing or glorifying immoral behavior ESPECIALLY when it's depicted for pleasure without consequences can absolutely have an impact. It can contribute to harmful mindsets, mainly when the line between fiction and values becomes blurred. So YES, people should be able to critique and question the ethics of what’s portrayed in such comics.
And you saying I should avoid it if I cant „handle it“ is dismissive. Its not about personal comfort, its about reflection and engaging critically.
