He's been gone 4+ years, just because he's the DNA giver, doesn't include being called dad/my kid. That's something usually considered rude to the other parent who has spent the whole time around kid.
Tho I will say in this story the Uke is just as toxic as he is, if not worse, since he let his kid suffer from this illness and never sought out proper help, why, because he never heard a "bad" rumor on the dad.

He's very selfish for keeping the kid to himself. But more so since finding out about the kid's illness and STILL unwilling to go for help. Spent the last year feeding him low-quality meds and working himself to death just for the sake of having the child all to himself.

Lol He didn’t let his kid suffer. He took his kid to doctors and was prescribed the only available medication on the market for his illness. Seems like the ML’s pharmaceutical company has higher quality medicine that isn’t available to the general public for whatever reason, but that isn’t the uke’s fault.

If you wanna know more about an illness that is hurting the child and is believed to be hereditary, but still do nothing on that, yes that's a choice in letting kiddo suffer

He did do something. He went were any parent would go - the hospital. That’s the only place he should’ve needed to go. He should’ve been able to get the latest and best medication and information from his child’s physicians. Pharmaceutical companies and hospitals work together. They perform research together. The ML’s family knew about their case for a reason.

He didn't want his baby daddy to find out for one, two he couldn't really understand his kids illness that much and even if he could've gone further it would mean he would possibly run in his bitch ass baby daddy, honestly he did the best anyone could've done in that situation. Now was it the best. No. But one he knew he had to do is it meant not getting entangled with his ex. His decision was selfish but selfless at the same time

Just because you go to a hospital or doctor's office, you may not always get the best meds. And IF he could've gone to get access to better meds from a company that does research on this particular genetic disorder and decided NOT to because of his fear of encountering his ex then that's on him. The child deserves better.

His decision makes him suffer as well as the child.

Alright here's the thing it's just fiction not irl so the author has the freedom of imagination they can take the story in whichever direction they see fit but as a consumer you also have the option to not read it I mean the whole point of reading fiction is to enjoy whatever you're reading if not I don't see the point of reading it at all....the ml is a red flag cause the author wanted him to be I don't see why anyone would change anything about their stories just because people want a different plot you all are saying she made her career by writing the same abusive characters but why the hell do you read them in the first place the author isn't begging anyone to read them
