I was 14 and I was reading Aoi House. In the series they talked about how the Y fell off and so Ii looked up Yaoi on google. I was mortified because all I saw were sex scenes and I thought I was going to get yelled at, so after the initial shock I looked up the definition and that led me into shouen ai, which eased me into yaoi which I now love!
