Ngl the way the mc was constantly over thinking is actually very realistic. As he is still early on in his life plus his first time being in a relationship, he would obviously be in a state of anxiousness.
Basically he's just lost and scared, he has no clue how anything works but I do agree on how infuriatingly thick-skulled he is during the whole encounter lol.
