I'm the same at some point. When I thought he changed back in high school and became a legit friend to Jinhyun. The turning point? When he killed his dog. It was not clearly shown but we can literally understand from that chapter that the reason he's losing his dogs is because he's killing them.
Then he killed his brother. His brother may have deserved it (or not) but I guess the root if it all is the dad so he should have killed the dad instead.
Just my opinion but we can all see that Sangmin's a psychopath. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
